Production Operator – Compounding Burl. Plant

TITLE: Production Operator – Compounding Burl. Plant

Major Function: Manufacture and package chemical products according to instructions and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Major Duties:

  1. Set up, operate, and monitor equipment used for producing and packaging products.
  2. Measure, weigh, mix, and process chemical ingredients following established procedures to create finished products.
  3. Monitor batches for quality and food safety parameters, including Critical Control Points and Control Points.
  4. Record production, sanitation and test data accurately and legibly.
  5. Draw samples of products for quality tests.
  6. Fill containers with chemical products for sale or internal use.
  7. Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas according to company procedures.
  8. Promptly report all food safety, physical safety, and product quality issues.
  9. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.

Purchasing Assistant / CSR | Burlington | (1st Shift)

TITLE:Purchasing Assistant/Customer Service Representative

Major Function:
Responsible for the successful management of the needs of the Employer’s customers in order to meet the objectives of the Employer’s overall business plans and strategies. To assist in the purchasing and inventory of raw materials for the company.

Major Duties:
CSR Duties:

  1. Receptionist – Greets guests and handles inbound phone calls to office when Elkhorn Receptionist is in meetings.
  2. Receive and answer all correspondence pertaining to COD orders and all other orders assigned in Chempex the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Keep current any revisions such as location changes, ship dates, quantities, as needed and communicate this internally to appropriate departments and update all records. Be available for the customer on any questions they may have regarding their open or shipped purchase orders.
  3. Complete Customer Issuance Forms and forward to the appropriate personnel regarding product issues, returns, damages and reasons.
  4. Coordinate shipping dates and order confirmations with the customer.
  5. Prepare and send reports and documents to customers as requested.
  6. Participate in and support reporting structure to ensure coverage for absences or other required backups, most notably Customer Service team members.

Purchasing Duties:

  1. Enter all purchase orders pertaining to raw material, maintenance, or supplies needed for Burlington, Elkhorn, and Rockton.
  2. Work with vendors and suppliers on the availability of raw materials as well as the status of purchase orders.
  3. Communicate with production on their needs for upcoming orders, notify production of all deliveries ie: raw materials, totes, drums, etc. Ensure the calendar for deliveries is up to date.
  4. Receive all purchase orders for bulk tankers and update Chempex (ERP) of all price changes and inventory for batch tickets.
  5. Send all purchase orders to Accounts Payable.
  6. Completes invoice reconciliation with the Finance Department.

Applied Material Solutions Process Engineer

Internship – Co-Op – Full Time

Applied Material Solutions manufactures a wide variety of foam control chemicals ranging from silicone antifoams to oil-based, water-based and silicone-free defoamers. We are also a key manufacturer of hydrophobic treated silica powders and colloidal silica sols. The successful candidate will aid in process engineering related activities, research and development, and the daily operations of all AMS plants.

Compensation and Timing:

These roles are instrumental in the successful launch of new product and process development as well as managing the process and quality of material made on each shift. The compensation range for this role will depend on the candidate’s level of experience and position.

The start and end dates of the Co-Op and internship are flexible and can be adapted to each candidate. We are currently looking for a 2025 Spring through Summer Co-op and 2025 Summer Internship.

Educational background and Experience:

In process of obtaining a BS in Chemical/Materials Engineering, and or related STEM field
Prior Manufacturing & Laboratory experience is a plus

Job Description:

  • Support the continued development of work cells ranging from new product introductions to existing product lines
  • Provide support in project management with the utilization of general engineering principles – heat exchange, mass balance, reaction synthesis, and so forth
  • Work towards becoming a resource to the plant personnel for troubleshooting and process improvement
