Field Sales

MAJOR FUNCTION

The Field Sales / Service Tech is responsible for providing customer service and sales for the company by working with and managing the needs of existing customers.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Under the guidance of the manager, provide superior customer service and sales support to assigned customer accounts.
  • Become familiar with AMS product offerings.
  • Get to know assigned accounts, their needs & expectations, how they operate, how they use AMS product(s), and how AMS can support them in a bigger way.
  • Support AMS’s strategic plan to grow the business and customer base.
  • Working with supervisor & manager, provide support in growing the AMS footprint in assigned territory.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Prior sales & service experience within the chemical industry is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of materials, chemical, or food processing experience is preferred.
  • QS, ISO, CI, INM, OSHA, GAP, GMP and HACCP training is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of financial management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Production Scheduler at all locations

The Production Scheduler is responsible for ensuring production and shipping activities are completed correctly and on time and for maintaining records of production and work order activities.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Associate’s Degree, technical certificate, or two years of experience in a related industry.
  • Previous chemical or food manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • GMP and HACCP training is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical exam.
  • Must be able to perform visual and olfactory observations.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

  • Enable effective communications between management, production team, and warehouse team.
  • Work with the Production Manager to schedule production and shipping activities.
  • Obtain freight quotes from selected carriers as needed.
  • Issue production batches, labels, and bills of lading.
  • Assign raw materials for production and finished products for shipments.
  • Verify the accuracy of product labels and shipping documents.
  • Schedule product shipments.
  • Review completed production records and work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify monitoring of Critical Control Points and Control Points to ensure food safety.
  • Accurately maintain electronic inventory records, including Hold status for products.
  • Enter product information into the Hold log as appropriate.
  • Maintain inventory and release records for warehouse customer(s).
  • Properly store completed production and work order documents.
  • Promptly report all food safety and product quality issues.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of customer-owned raw materials and production. 16. Have knowledge and understanding of PO receiving.

Customer Service Representative at our Elkhorn, WI location

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Customer service experience & Freight experience will be very helpful in this position.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with the chemical industry or an allied industry.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

  • Customer Service – Manage the needs of our customers in support of meeting the objectives of the company’s business plans and strategies. Promptly respond to customer inquiries.
  • Receive and enter incoming purchase orders in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. Keep all records updated with current revisions such as location changes, ship dates, and quantities, and communicate internally to appropriate departments. Be available for the customer with questions they may have regarding their open or shipped purchase orders.
  • Coordinate shipping dates with the customer. Where necessary, negotiate freight quotes, prepare shipping paperwork, and send it to the appropriate plant location.
  • Closeout all completed sales orders and give them to Finance.
  • Prepare and send reports and documents to customers as requested.
  • Participate in and support reporting structure to ensure coverage for absences or other required backups, most notably Receptionist and Customer Service team members.

  • Must possess characteristics that show sound judgment necessary to fulfill position duties and maintain relationships with customers, freight reps, and coworkers.

Quality Assurance Supervisor for all locations

The Quality Assurance Supervisor’s main responsibilities are to provide direct verification of AMS plants’ conformance to quality and regulatory standards, to provide support and guidance (written or verbal) to management, staff, and customers, and provide training to staff as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • HACCP certification is required or must be able to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Previous experience with the Food Safety Management System is highly desirable

QUALITY MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure the quality control procedures are implemented during every step of the production process and finished goods
  • Maintain and validate quality documentation
  • Assist in addressing quality issues and report quality findings and issues to superiors whenever necessary
  • Respond to client complaints related to the product quality by conducting root cause analyses and taking necessary corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Plan, conduct, address, and report findings on internal quality audits
  • Compile quality information needed for management review and on a planned, regular basis
  • Take appropriate corrective actions on identified problems concerning audits, production, and documentation
  • Identify potential sources of error and suggest ways to eliminate them
  • Establish and execute the Inspection and Test Plan
  • Ensure the availability of required tools, including calibrated measuring equipment

FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS 

  • Establish and manage the food safety management system and procedure – this includes developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and programs to meet the current FSSC 22000 Code
  • Work with a third party to certify the organization for FSSC and other applicable standards
  • Train AMS personnel on quality and FSSC and related programs and maintain training documentation

SUPPLIER-RELATED FUNCTIONS 

  • Verify raw material and product specifications provided by clients have been correctly understood and transferred to internal documents
  • Review documentation submitted by suppliers
  • Support the supplier performance improvement process

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide timely professional interaction with plant management personnel to help resolve production issues related to quality
  • Perform trend data analyses of test results
  • Support the development of new products
  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly Quality System reviews and documents
  • Establish department budget, work schedules, and future project planning
  • Participation in department reviews with human resources
  • Supervise Quality Technicians in QC functions
  • Other similar tasks as required by management
